چکیده
A 70-year-old man without any particular medical history or past trauma was referred to our hospital with a complaint of intermittent epigastric pain lasting for 1 day. On admission, his vital signs were stable, and he exhibited diffuse abdominal tenderness without distention, rebound or guarding. Except for a decreased level of hemoglobin at 105 g/L, all the laboratory values were within the normal ranges. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) revealed the presence of an ill-demarcated hyperdense mass inseparable from the small bowel mesentery(Picture A). Contrast-enhanced CT revealed a mesenteric hematoma accompanying with a mesenteric branch artery aneurysm (Picture B-D). As the patient was hemodynamically stable, his family refused surgery and embolization. His symptoms subsided with conservative

A rare cause of hemoperitoneum: A case report of ruptured ileocolic artery aneurysm.
Visceral artery aneurysm (VAA) is very rare among vascular pathologies. Incidence reported in autopsy series and angiographic studies varies between 0.1% and 0.2%. Most cases are asymptomatic and are diagnosed as result of complications, or incidentally, when imaging is performed for another reason. Three percent of VAAs are superior mesenteric artery (SMA) terminal branch aneurysms. Intra- and...
متن کاملRupture of an Aneurysm of a Small Branch of the Superior Mesenteric Artery: A Case Report
BACKGROUND Superior mesenteric artery aneurysm (SMAA) is an uncommon vascular disorder. Complications such as rupture have been reported. Once complication has been encountered both surgical and endovascular treatment techniques can be considered. CASE REPORT We present a case of 68-year old male patient with SMAA rupture treated by endovascular modality. CONCLUSIONS Endovascular therapy is...
متن کاملSpontaneous aortic rupture in a patient with neurofibromatosis type 1
Neurofibromatosis type I (NF-1) is a rare autosomal dominant genetic disorder occurring in 1 in 3,000 individuals. Vasculopathy is a rarely reported finding in patients with NF-1. Here, we report a case of recurrent aortic pseudoaneurysm after endovascular aneurysm repair in a 49-year-old male patient with NF-1. On the sixth postoperative day following a successful open surgical repair of an ao...
متن کاملUnruptured Giant Aneurysm of The Inferior Pancreaticoduodenal Artery with Superior Mesenteric Artery Stenosis Obstructed by Spontaneous Thrombosis After Superior Mesenteric Artery Angioplasty: A Case Report
Most pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysms involve celiac trunk stenosis or occlusion. Few cases have been related to superior mesenteric artery (SMA) stenosis, and none of these was treated with SMA angioplasty before transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) or operative resection of the aneurysm. We treated a 79-year-old woman with incidentally detected inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery ane...
متن کاملAbdominal apoplexy: two unusual cases of hemoperitoneum.
Abdominal apoplexy, or idiopathic spontaneous intraperitoneal hemorrhage, is a rare and often fatal condition resulting from a variety of disease processes affecting the arterial and venous abdominal vasculature. Preoperative and intraoperative diagnosis and treatment of abdominal apoplexy are challenging. The source of bleeding may remain elusive even after careful autopsy dissection given the...
